Ciara had nothing but positive things to say about her once-rival Rihanna after the 2025 Met Gala.
During the May 5 event, the vocalists had a quick conversation and photo-op, which Ciara discussed while on talk show Sherri the next day. For those who can recall, CiCi and RiRi weren't always on the best terms, once getting into a nasty Twitter spat in 2011. At the time, Ciara spoke on former E! show Fashion Police about an unpleasant run-in she had with Rihanna, which led to a back-and-forth ending in the infamous final blow: "Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of."
The women made up shortly after, with Rihanna extending Ciara an apology on Twitter. But around the 3-minute mark of the interview above, Ciara recalled her and Rihanna chatting it up about motherhood. During the Met Gala, Rihanna revealed that she and ASAP Rocky are expecting her third child.
"It was so sweet running into her. I just have to shout her out because I'm so proud of her," Ciara said.
Ciara explained that her, husband Russell Wilson, Rihanna and Rocky laughed about expanding their respective families. "You know I have four. So [Russell] starts talking about cinco," she said. "So we start talking about quatro for her, but she's gotta get through the tres first. The third baby first."
Ciara added that the ladies had "straight mommy talk" and brought up a "sweet DM" that Rihanna sent months before, saying that she was "so proud" of the "Goodies" artist.
"I'm proud of her, too. She is rocking it in such a great way," Ciara added.
One year after wishing Rihanna a happy birthday on Twitter in 2018, Ciara appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, where she complimented Rihanna on singing "Goodies" at karaoke months before.
