Chris Brown wants fans to "be true" to themselves—and possibly ignore recent news about the dismissal of his defamation lawsuit.

On Tuesday (Jan. 13), it was reported that the the singer's $500 million defamation suit against Warner Bros. Discovery and Ample Entertainment regarding 2024 Investigation Discovery docuseries Chris Brown: A History of Violence was dismissed.

Filed last January, Brown accused the companies behind the docuseries of "promoting and publishing false information in the pursuit of likes, clicks, downloads, and dollars." The special looked into domestic abuse allegations against the two-time Grammy winner following his 2009 assault of pop artist Rihanna.

In one alleged incident described in the Investigation Discovery special, a woman claimed that Brown sexually assaulted her on a yacht owned by Sean "Diddy" Combs in 2020, which Brown denied.

Judge Colin Leis dismissed Brown's petition, writing that the alleged 2020 incident, as portrayed in the docuseries, "presented a 'fair and true' report of [the woman’s] statements and the judicial record and proceedings."

In his Instagram Story on Wednesday, Brown appeared to respond to news of the dismissal with motivational, yet cryptic, messages for his Instagram followers.

"Be true to yourself," the vocalist began. "Write your own story. Let people learn and be inspired. Don't listen to the misinformed. Show them your glow."

Brown added, "Show them your heart. Show no weakness. Live life and take care of life. Never stop and never let them stop you on your journey to greatness."

Despite the abuse allegations that have plagued his career, Brown's 2025 Breezy Bowl XX tour reportedly grossed over $295 million in ticket sales, according to Billboard.
