CeeLo Green and his son, Layke, drew attention while attending the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

On Sunday (February 1), the Goodie Mob member spoke with Entertainment Tonight reporter Nischelle Turner, who asked about CeeLo’s eye-catching red contacts. The five-time Grammy winner played coy about his interesting look before introducing his son (“like Lake Erie,” Layke said about his name), whose given name is Kingston Johnson. CeeLo shares Layke with his ex-wife, Christina Johnson, who he divorced in 2005 after five years of marriage.

If CeeLo’s look wasn’t enough, Layke also wore black and white face paint that made him look like a fifth member of Kiss.

"I was born this way," CeeLo joked about his colorful contacts.

When asked about his name, Layke replied, "Honestly, it opens up just an air of mystery and makes it seem like a little bit bigger than just a human being. You’ve got to go with the flow."

While CeeLo is known for rocking outlandish Grammys attire, one of his statement outfits being an all-gold robotic look, people on social media where somehow confused to see that his son had a similar fashion sense.

Since releasing his last solo album, CeeLo Green is Thomas Callaway, in 2020, CeeLo has largely stayed out of the public eye, although he made news when he announced that he had purchased the Atlanta home of late Dungeon Family co-founder Rico Wade in 2024. The musician plans to turn the home, which was home of the collective’s studio in the 1990s, into a museum.

“One day soon it will be a museum, archiving our rich musical history. You’ll be the first to know,” Green said in an Instagram post. “And if you’re ever in Atlanta on the Southside, come see us sometime and we will take good care of you, the way father took care of us. #facts one time for Mr. Wade.”
