Music’s biggest acts are taking notice of a song by a nine-year-old artist hailing from Chicago.
Benny Blanco, Brent Faiyaz, Murda Beatz and Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jxmmi are among the newest fans of Young Roddo, who’s the son of music entrepreneur SherodCantSing. Young Roddo has recently blown up due to the popularity of his viral track “No Bad Grades,” where he innocently sings, “I can't get no bad grades/ My mama said if I get A's, I get paid/ Wake up, brush my teeth, make my bed/ Tooth fell out, I need that bread/ Yeah it's paper on the way.”
In a clip preview of another song, Brent Faiyaz declared that Young Roddo is “outta here.” “Praise Jah In the Moonlight” artist YG Marley also commented, writing, “Your talent will take you far, you have a great sound carry it to the furthest extent!!”
When Young Roddo isn’t behind the mic, the elementary school student is continuing to develop his artistry and stage presence, as seen on Instagram.
While we wait for Young Roddo to drop his debut project, albums by Faiyaz, Blanco and Rae Sremmurd are available on Complex Shop.
