ASAP Rocky and Rihanna might be entertainment's biggest couple goals, but being in the spotlight isn't as simple as one would think.

The Don't Be Dumb rapper, who shares three children with Rihanna, discussed his relationship in a recent sit-down with Esquire editor-in-chief Michael Sebastian.

Around the 21-minute mark of the video below, Sebastian asked Rocky for the "secret" to his relationship with the pop vocalist and billionaire entrepreneur, to which the rapper called her his "match."

"If it didn't match, it wouldn't work," Rocky continued. "I've always wanted to have a family. I think I was able to have all of my fun and do all the ladies and be a pretty boy, a playboy most of my life, you know, and it gets tiresome."

The Harlem native added that he made it "cool" to "be with one lady" and show the public what "true love is." "Not just when the cameras come on. And it's not easy being two high-profile [celebrities] and in a relationship together," he explained. “That can't be easy because one has one schedule and agenda, the other has another schedule and agenda. But we make it work. That's what I love about being with somebody like my girl."

On what he's learned from being with the nine-time Grammy winner, Rocky believes that a woman who loves her partner will "protect" them. "It's moral
support to the tenth power. When you have a woman that loves you, is madly in love with you, your might smell like roses."

In other interviews, Rocky often talks about his relationship with Rihanna, whom he began dating around 2020, and earlier this month, the rapper revealed that it was his mother who encouraged him to pursue his now-girlfriend.

“I used to be like, ‘Ma why you keep saying that? That girl don’t even want me like that," he explained on Popcast. "'Be cool, Ma. That’s just my friend. Chill.’”

"'I’m telling you, she real,'" Rocky recalled his mother telling him, adding, "And mothers know best."
