Hours after being found not liable on all claims in his civil rape case, producer Metro Boomin issued a statement.

The statement, which was released via his lawyers on Thursday (Sept. 25), reads, “I’m grateful and thankful to God that I can finally put all of this nonsense behind me.”

“Based off of how I treat others and represent myself, never in a million years would I have thought I could be accused of such a disgusting and heinous act,” the statement continued.

He reflected on the verdict, writing, “Today I took a victory in court but in reality there is a long list of losses I stacked up in this year long process of clearing my name and reputation.” Metro went on to reiterate claims that the accuser, Vanessa LeMaistre, was motivated by money, calling the suit a “shakedown.”

“The very large amount of money and time wasted based off of someone else’s greed, coupled with the incalculable amount of money and opportunities that did not make it to me or my team during this time,” the statement reads. “I’m disappointed in not only the plaintiff but the janky lawyers who made the conscious decision to take on this suit, even though it was evident long ago that these claims had no legs or merit and would not end up going anywhere.”

Metro was accused of sexual assault by LeMaistre, who alleged that in 2016, he raped her in a recording studio after taking a Xanax and drinking. She then went on to allege that she discovered she was pregnant a few weeks later, choosing to terminate the pregnancy. If found guilty, the producer would have had to pay damages.
