OVO Sound signee Popcaan has released his new single “Skeleton Cartier,” which is also featured in Drake’s Nike x Nocta campaign.
Drizzy shared shots of the Jamaican singer rocking the new footwear on Instagram, with Popcaan being a major part of the promotional content that was released with the product.
Spring is right around the corner, but Popcaan is making it feel like Summer is approaching with his latest single. Even during the cold months of one location, it’s always warm somewhere else, and “Skeleton Cartier” sounds like it should be boomed from a drop-top vehicle even when other places still require puffer jackets and layers. Embracing the campaign that it’s attached to, Popcaan flexes on the song about how his dazzling Cartier watch matches his fresh Nike kicks, alluding to Drake’s Nocta shoes that dropped this week.
When talking about the inspiration behind the song, Popcaan said it was simply inspired by the first time he purchased the luxury Cartier item.
“This song is about how I was feeling after I ordered myself a Skeleton Cartier watch for my birthday,” he said. “This was possible because I put in the work. The aim is always to be richer — in more ways than one!”
“Skeleton Cartier” is also the first single of Popcaan’s forthcoming Great Is He album.
