Drake, known as the unofficial king of memes, has seemingly done it once again. On Jan. 22, the rapper launched a line of trucker hats showcasing a character on the front who goes by the name of Anita Max Wynn.

Innitially itroduced by Drake in a December 2023 livestream, Wynn is a cartoon who holds more meaning than meets the eye. In his announcement, Drake humorously said, "Ladies with gentle hands, this is my alter ego, Anita Max Wynn.”

Since the introduction of this new character, fan-made videos have surfaced on social media, and there's even an official X account for the fictional character. Who is Drake’s alter ego?

Anita Max Wynn was introduced on a Kick livestream in December 2023. Depicted as a meme cartoon, the character is pictured with a red bob haircut and bangs, circular glasses, and a pink and yellow outfit. It is suspected that the original designer of the cartoon is someone who uses the named @createdbyseol on Instagram. Her name is inspired by Drake’s love for gambling, and loosely translates to “I need a max win,” which is a popular gambling term.

What is he selling in connection to the alter ego?

On Jan. 22, Drake released a collection of trucker hats with the Anita Max Wynn character on the front of it. The hats, which come in original aquamarine and black, also have the logo of the gambling company Stake on the side of it. Hats are currently on sale at DrakeRelated.com.

What is Drake and Anita Max Wynn’s connection to Stake?

Drake has had a longstanding relationship with the cryptocurrency and gambling company Stake since 2022. For months, the rapper shared screenshots of his earnings and bets, as well as pictures of him playing games on social media. In March 2022, Drake officially confirmed his partnership with the company writing in a post on Instagram, “It was inevitable, Drake and @stake have come together.” At the time, he also announced a live event in which fans could come together and play to win money. Stake co-founder Ed Craven also confirmed the collaboration, noting that “Drake has been an active member of our global community.” His official role at the company has not been fully disclosed, but it would appear that Drake serves as some kind of ambassador. In 2022, Casino.org reported that Drake had wagered over $1 billion with Stake in just two months. The trucker hats featuring Anita Max Wynn seem to be another extension of Drake’s partnership with Stake.

In light of Drake’s alter ego and viral stream, some music creators have come up with some fun and danceable edits. Producer Fazobeats dropped a Jersey Club remix of Drake introducing Anita Max Wynn on Jan. 17, 2024. The remix has also been used in TikTok videos.
