Offset Tried to Get Kendrick Lamar on 'Father of 4'

After numerous collaborations with Drake, Offset tried to score both a J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar feature for his debut solo album.

After numerous collaborations with Drake, Offset tried to complete the triple crown by having both a J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar feature.

During an interview with TMZ, the Migo said he was pushing for a K. Dot verse but the stars didn't align.

"I tried to get Kendrick on a record," Offset said after being asked if there were any features he wanted on Father of 4 that didn't pan out.

If 'Set would have grasped a Kendrick feature, he would be one of the few rappers to have done records with Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Drake, with whom he and the Migos co-headlined a successful tour. As for Cole, the Dreamville general has a verse on the Father of 4 track "How Did I Get Here." He's been in a feature-centric mood, and admitted he "snuck one in at the buzzer" this time:

So to pin down the elusive K. Dot verse would have been a tall task. But there are few things Quality Control can't do, and it'll be interesting to see if Offset can add that achievement to his trophy case soon.

A year ago Offset told NMEMigos were “cheated” by the Grammys snubbing Culture and “Bad and Boujee” in favor of Kendrick’s DAMN. and “HUMBLE” (for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance, respectively). “They cheated us,” Offset told the magazine. Quavo added: “There was nothing bigger than the fucking Culture album this whole last year! They’re scared to handle the three-headed monster. … [But] we’ll be back next year.” Unfortunately their only 2019 Grammy recognition was for helping Pharrell win Producer of the Year with their work on "Stir Fry" and "Apeshit."
