The road to the Spice Girls Reunion Tour might have just hit an unexpected speed bump. On Monday, Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell openly expressed her disappointment in band mate Melanie "Mel B" Brown while also denying Brown's claims that the two slept together.

With the help of spokesman Alan Edwards, Geri Halliwell released a statement to USA Today, where she set the record straight for her fans as well as the reporting publications.

"[Halliwell] would like you to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family," Edwards explained to USA Today. "It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumors again."

Halliwell's statement is in response to fellow Spice Girl Mel B (Scary Spice)'s recent interview with Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan. During their conversation, Morgan resurfaced the popular 90s rumor that Brown and Halliwell were a little more than best friends. This led Brown to allege that she and Halliwell did have sex one time "in the past" that the two laughed off.

Halliwell's domestic hurt was a casualty Mel B mentioned during her appearance on Good Morning Britain. Before disclosing her supposed one-night stand with Halliwell, Brown did her very best to avoid the question. She even looked to another Spice Girl, Mel C, who was in the audience to help her evade the topic. After unsuccessfully downplaying her platonic friendship with Ginger Spice, Mel B let it be known that Halliwell will be mad she revealed this to the public.

"She's going to hate me for this because she's all posh in a country house with her husband," Brown told Morgan. "But it was all in the past. It just happened, we just giggled at it and that was it. We were best friends. It just happened."

Halliwell has been married to formula one driver Christian Horner since 2015. The couple raises three children—one from each of their previous relationships and a son that they had together in 2016. Because of her current maternal barrings, it's unclear if Mel B's comments will throw a wrench in their upcoming world tour, which is set to start on May 31 in Manchester.
