Bhad Bhabie was accused of cultural appropriation for wearing braids, and it appears as though she heard the criticism.
On Tuesday, she took to Instagram, where she fired back at "black females" who took objection to her box braids.
"To all the black females that are saying my hair [ain’t] meant for box Braids guess the fuck what y’all hair [ain’t] meant to be straight," she wrote. "But y’all glue whole wigs on to your heads and sew brazilian/Indian/ Peruvian hair which is anything like y'all real hair texture."
The rapper received a wave of backlash when she debuted her box braids recently. Certain social media users tried to explain to her that braids are often used as protective styles for black women and could be damaging to her hair.
Others felt like she has been appropriating black culture during her rise to stardom and getting box braid is yet another example. Black women also wanted her—and those who support her—to understand the struggles they face when it comes to the vilification of their hair.
Bhad Bhabie responded by trying to explain that her braids aren't appropriating black culture because she didn't "trash black women for wearing braids." Yet, this only displayed that she doesn't fully understand what appropriation means.
"I completely agree that it would b out of line and cultural appropriation if I was trashing black girls for wearing braids them getting them but that's not the situation at all so leave me tf alone or imma start getting real disrespectful," she said before adding another post aimed at those who are bothered by her hair.
"I love the way I look plus your man agrees," Bhabie wrote. "we all know I look fine asf in any hairstyle I do from any culture because I'm that bitch. I hope you bald-headed hoes stay up all night thinking about this."
The racial undertones in her response were too much for those who read it. They vented their anger by further dragging Bhabie on social media.

Bhabie tried to end the discussion by claiming that the comments weren't directed at "ALL black women." She also said that black women weren't the specific target of her "bald headed" statement.
She then issuing a seemingly backhanded apology to the people she offended.
"I want to deeply apologize to everyone who’s life’s have seriously effected by the way I wear my hair and from the bottom of my heart I wanted to tell you suck my dick," she captioned a video of her braids. "( and yes apparently I guess I have really effected life’s I can’t figure out another reason why anyone would take time out of their day to write paragraphs and bully someone about hair) and btw who ever wanna come “pull em out” like they said ya got my location I [ain't] hiding."
But that wasn't all. The rapper made more comments regarding the situation and continued to double down.
