Swizz Beatz Brings Out Timbaland for Beat Battle at Summer Jam

After Timbaland accepted a challenge from Swizz Beatz for a beat battle back in 2017, the two producers duked it out in front of a massive crowd at Hot 97's Summer Jam.

Nearly a year ago, Timbaland accepted a challenge from Swizz Beatz for a beat battle between the two legendary producers.

At the time, it was unclear when the battle would go down, but the deep catalogs of both producers promised it would be worth the wait whenever it happened. On Sunday evening, during Swizz Beatz' set at Hot 97's Summer Jam 2018, they finally got their chance.

At the conclusion of the 15-minute battle, Swizz told the crowd, "This is to be continued. I ain't finished with the ass-whippin' and I guess he ain't [either]. There's too much catalog." You can watch it unfold above via video from Mr. World Premiere.

During a recent appearance on Open Late With Peter Rosenberg, Swizz Beatz revealed that he still can't stand the moment on Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy where his voice cuts out for half a second on the intro of "So Appalled." He told Rosenberg, "I just never understood why my part was never cleaned up. If you hear, my voice skips on it." Swizz also explained that he isn’t totally sure if that was an intentional move by Kanye: "I don’t know if he didn’t want to mess with my craft." You can watch the full interview below.
