20 years ago, Slum Village finished recording their much-lauded album, Fantastic, Vol. 2, a 21-song project that featured appearances from Q-Tip, D'Angelo, Busta Rhymes, Kurupt, Pete Rock, and Common.

When it was finally released two years later, the combination of Dilla's excellent production with poetic raps from T3 and Baatin drew near-unanimous praise. To celebrate the anniversary, the group and their label Ne’Astra Music have decided to release "additional relics" from the album in a project dubbed The Lost Scrolls Vol. 2.

First up is a "lost remix" of the project's Q-Tip-assisted sixth track, "Hold Tight." The alternate version holds on to the charmingly low-key quality of the original, while freshening things up with some subtle new production touches and vocal flourishes.

Now comprised of Young RJ and T3, Slum Village have plans of touring again this summer to honor the anniversary. In the meantime, you can hear the new "Hold Tight" remix below and grab the song when it hits iTunes and Spotify Friday (April 6).
