Taylor Swift has joined a growing list of celebrity supporters for Kesha and her ongoing legal battle against Dr. Luke, who she claims physically and sexually abused her for years.
According to E! News, Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha “to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time.” Kesha’s mom has also confirmed the news on Twitter.
Swift is the latest person to show her support for Kesha. Over the weekend, Demi Lovatocommended Kesha for her bravery. “This is only gonna make you stronger, you brave and beautiful girl. Prayers are with you.”
Shortly after word got out about Swift's donation, Lovato may have thrown some shade at Swift. She made a point in her earlier tweets that she's ready for "self-proclaimed feminists to start speaking out or taking action for women's rights." She backed up her statement with this tweet:
On Friday, Kesha's plea to get out of her contract was denied by a judge. She must fulfill her contractual obligation and make six more albums with Dr. Luke for Sony Records.
