Premiere: Listen to Obie Trice's "Good Girls" (Prod. By Magnedo)

Obie's back.

Obie Trice is ready to make a comeback in hip-hop this year. The Detroit MC, who was once signed to Eminem’s Shady Records, has made a successful run as an independent artist, releasing Bottoms Up and Watch the Chrome to great responses from his fans. Tonight, Mr. Real Name, No Gimmicks gave Complex the green light to release his newest single, “Good Girls,” which he has been teasing on Twitter for weeks now.

Produced by Magnedo, “Good Girls” is a club-ready track that contains plenty of banging drums to keep you raging all night. Obie spits some fire verses about good girls “who like to have bad fun,” which we can see becoming exclusively a summer photo caption on Instagram. It’s a track refreshingly different than what Obie has done before, but also maintains his lyrical prowess loyal fans will enjoy.

Give “Good Girls” a listen below, which will appear on Obie’s long-awaited album, The Hangover, dropping on Aug. 7. We also spoke with him about the inspiration behind the single, where he also revealed upcoming songs with Young Buck and Estelle on the project.

What inspired your 2015 comeback?
It's just that time. Been three years since my last album Bottoms Up was released. I owe it to y'all!

What can fans expect on the new album?
A bit of everything. Me and Young Buck got some heat. Estelle on there too. Got that classic shit for my fans. Got something for everyone on there.

Estelle is an interesting collab choice, how'd that come together?
I think she dope and my producer Malik Mausi did some work with her. We reached out and she blessed us. Great look, can't wait till y'all hear it.

Where are you mentally right now with music?
Some shit in the game been funny but I'm good. I'm in a good space and I'm ready to drop this project.

Why #TheHangover?
My theme been drink and we do that. I just keep it my way. Fuck what anyone else doing.

What's the inspiration behind "Good Girls"?
Them good girls who like to have bad fun. [Laughs.] Well, my guy Magnedo, who did work for Marshall on Recovery, had sent me the track. We vibed and the music came out dope.
