Justin Bieber Threatens to Make His Instagram Private Over Fans Harassing Sofia Richie (UPDATED)

Justin Bieber isn't pleased about how some of his fans are talking to his rumored girlfriend Sofia Richie and has threatened to make his Instagram private.

UPDATED 7:28 p.m. ET: Justin Bieber's ex Selena Gomez has responded to Justin's threats to go private with the IG comment heard 'round the world. She weighed in directly on Bieber's Instagram picture.

Gomez' comment quickly inspired the now-trending hashtag #SelenaEndedJustinParty.

Even Bieber responding directly to Gomez' comment couldn't stop the party.

Gomez clapped back with one last shot by calling Bieber out on his cheating ways during their very public relationship. "Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive." Whoa.

Bieber then dropped his own accusation. "I cheated.. oh I forgot about about You and Zayn?" he responded in reference to Zayn Malik. Shots fired.

Justin Bieber is rumored to be dating Sofia Richie, the daughter of iconic musician Lionel Richie. Naturally, we should be happy for him, right?

Well, his loyal Beliebers are a passionate bunch, and they aren’t feeling that he’s spending so much time with his new squeeze. They’ve been trolling her Instagram posts with snake emojis, black hearts, and other seemingly vindictive commentary.

It's worth noting that his pack of Beliebers weren’t this vocal when he had a rumored fling with Hailey Baldwin (daughter of Stephen and niece of Alec), but perhaps it has something to do with her age. Richie is 17 years old, while Bieber is 22.

After Bieber posted photos of himself with Richie, he made a comment that he would make his Instagram private if his fans continued to harass her. "I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like," he wrote.

Beliebers evidently didn’t like Bieber’s comment—especially since they’ve been vocally supportive of his career over the years. They took to Twitter with some nasty (and admittedly hilarious) commentary and began trending the hashtag #RIPBeliebers.

Yikes. Still, the outrage evidently isn’t going to stop Bieber and Richie from seeing each other. We’ll definitely be seeing more photos from their jetsetting to places like Japan very soon.
