Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s collaborative album Platas O Plomo is shaping up to have anthems on anthems, judging by their latest single “Cookin.”
On Friday, Tidal and Sprint teamed up to premiere the video at a secret location in New York. Shortly after, the video debuted exclusively on Tidal. Directed by Eif Rivera—whose credits include “All The Way Up” and “Figure It Out”—the duo, along with featured guests French Montana and RySoValid, head to a desert in Dubai to catch a vibe. Terror Squad is out here in 2016, as the whole crew ride out in Jeeps and on camels while highlighting the luxuries of the city. Think a lot of gold and opulence.
Fat Joe originally announced he was working on a joint album with Remy Ma in February. A month later on N.O.R.E.’s Drink Champs podcast, he confirmed the title would be called Platas O Plomo. Papoose, who is Remy’s husband, was instrumental in encouraging the two to put out a project because of their chemistry together.
“Cookin” follows their first single “All the Way Up,” which received a remix by Jay Z thanks to some behind-the-scenes work by N.O.R.E. and Memphis Bleek. If Joey and Rem are producing hits like this, we can’t wait to see what the full product will sound like.
