The anticipation for Lil Wayne's upcoming album has truly peaked; earlier this week, Kobe Bryant posted a promotional shot for Tha Carter V on Twitter, sparking rumors that it might've been the album's official artwork. The excitement increased when Floyd Mayweather posted a snippet of Weezy and Drake in the studio working on the album's first single, "Believe Me" which dropped in full last night—along with a new Nicki track "Believe Me" with Soulja Boy.

Another artist that has fans hyped for more music is Frank Ocean, who is slated to perform at this year's Met Gala. He posted a message on his Tumblr a few weeks ago hinting that he was finishing up his new album, and since Kanye West's performance at last year's Met Gala was the first time the world heard some of Yeezus, we hope Frank decides to do the same.

In other news, Forbes' highest-earning couple Jay Z and Beyoncé officially announced the On The Run tour, which kicks off June 25 in Miami, make its way around the U.S. and Canada, and concludes in San Francisco. While this 16-city tour gives fans all over the country a shot at catching Bey and Jay together, it's safe to say tickets will sell out fast since pre-sale began on April 29. Good luck.

This week we also premiered new music (and a new rant) from Dame Dash, while Young Thug and Metro Boomin released their latest music video, and there's a new DJ Khaled song, which has already stirred up some controversy, too. Check out all that and more on What The Hell Just Happened In Music This Week?

CORRECTION (4/23/15): In an earlier version of this post and its corresponding video, we erroneously used a photo of DJ Rashad Hayes to represent the late DJ Rashad. We regret this mistake and apologize to DJ Rashad Hayes.

We were introduced to Stitches, an 18-year-old rap phenom with an AK-47 tattooed on his face and the intensity of no rapper you've ever seen before.

Date: April 26

Need a pick-me-up? Unsigned 18-year-old Miami rapper Stitches will throw you, possibly across two parking lots.

It's hard to tell where to start with this song, which sounds like mainlining RedBulls through your eyeballs. This blends the exuberant traditions of rap bangers and yelling like a maniac into one intense package about selling cocaine, or splitting open a brick and throwing it all around your apartment while wearing a Hellraiser mask.

It's tough to pick out just one part of this masterpiece as the clear highlight, but let's go with the moment he points to a tattoo on his face and raps: "I got an AK-47 on my face, ho/So you know I don't shoot no pistol."

Jay Z called lacrosse soft on DJ Khaled's latest single, to which Major League Lacrosse responded that Hov wouldn't "last a minute" on a lacrosse field.

Date: April 28

DJ Khaled summer anthem season has returned. Just hours after Khaled's hilarious interview with MTV hit the net, in which he announced WWE style that he secured Jay Z for his first single, we get the record courtesy of the legend Funk Flex.

On "They Don't Love You No More," we not only hear Hov, but Khaled also comes with the regular crew of Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and French Montana, with Mike Zombie handling the production. Khaled said he wanted to run the summer, so let's see if this one is about to get it done. This will be featured on Khaled's new album, which is apparently titled, I Changed a Lot. Jay did some work on the production, and possibly jabbed back at Drake with, "Haters wanna ball let me tighten up my drawstring, wrong sports boy, you know you soft as a lacrosse team."—Zach Frydenlund

Frank Ocean is set to perform at this year's Met Gala, which hopefully means he's got some new music in-store for next week.

Date: April 30

This year's Met Gala takes place on May 5th in New York City and according to Page Six, Frank Ocean will reportedly be performing at the event.

As most of you remember, Kanye West performed at last year's Gala before Yeezus was released, and premiered some new tracks, including "Awesome" which never made the final cut for his album. Will Frank perform new music that we know he's been working on? Hopefully.—Lauren Nostro

Young Thug and Metro Boomin released the video for "The BLanguage," and Thug's dancing was absolutely perfect.

Date: April 30

After previewing the video for "The BLanguage" earlier this week on Instagram, Metro Boomin and Young Thug soon returned with the real deal. In the video, Metro and Thug are simply kicking it around the crib with plenty of syrup bottles around, and a red over light effect for good measure. Thug's dancing in the video is also worth noting, because it's pretty spectacular. The Cam Kirk-directed video sets the scene nicely for both Thug and Metro as we patiently wait for their Metro Thuggin project, which is coming soon.—Zach Frydenlund

We premiered Dame Dash's new track "Flip," which features an authentic rant from the man himself. You're welcome.

Date: May 1

In a perfect world, Dame Dash would release an entire EP of him just talking shit over incredible beats. We don't live in a perfect world, but this week we got a little closer with Dame's latest track featuring Sen City called "Flip" produced by Ben The Glorious Bastard.

For some inspiration, please read Dame's gospel and stream the song below.

"I don't stack, I flip, and I only flip as I'm inspired. And this is what I suggest, find a good woman, a woman with taste, a woman with style, you don't really wanna hang around n****s too much, the egos make them jealous, but a woman, if you treat her right, she'll be loyal, and she'll teach you, and she'll fight for you. I'm in the "Fuck N****s" crew. Pause. N****s is the new bitches, and I mean that in the most sincere way." —Lauren Nostro
