How do you create something that can measure up to the success of a platinum-selling smash hit song? That's the question O.T. Genasis was faced with after his single "CoCo" flew up the charts and dominated the culture back in 2014. For his latest attempt at a hit, the Atlanta rapper called in Young Thug and Kevin Gates to lend their talents to a remix of the song "Cut It" from his latest album Rhythms & Bricks.
This isn't the first time the former G-Unit label signee has surrounded himself with a great deal of star power in hopes of propelling his music onward and upward. He linked up with Lil Wayne for the song "Do It" and Trae The Truth on "O.V. (It's Over)" last year. Then, in January, he released the original version of "Cut It" featuring Young Dolph. The song bared a striking sonic resemblance to "CoCo," but only managed to crack into the bottom end of the Top-50 on the charts.
Will this new version of "Cut It" with Thugger and Kevin Gates have the ability to get Genasis back amongst the rap elite? Perhaps. Check out the song via the stream below.
