All's well that ends well. Just a month after Big Freedia was forced to cancel a show in Hattiesburg, Mississippi over "twerking concerns," the Queen of New Orleans Bounce has finally resolved the dispute and has officially put the gig back on the calendar. "I'm just very relieved that the State Alcohol Beverage Control decided my show would not be breaking any laws and we can return," Big Freedia told Rolling Stone. "I got fans in Hattiesburg and I don’t want to let them down. Let the Twerking begin!"

The issue first arose when Missisippi's Alcohol Beverage Control threatened to fine the venue, the Dollar Box, that had booked Freedia if they allowed the concert to proceed. "The word gyrating was in there," the club's owner Ben Shemper told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "[The ABC] made it sound like it was some kind of strip show or whatever." Apparently, after explaining to the ABC what twerking actually was, the concert was allowed to proceed and will take place on March 25th. Big Freedia has declared that date to be the first annual international twerk day.
