Zayn's sophomore album Icarus Falls arrived on Friday.

While the former One Direction member officially confirmed the 27-track album last month, he’s been releasing singles from the project over the course of the year. In April, he shared with Zane Lowe that he had already secured the name of the album, as well as the track list and overall theme. “I've got the whole concept and everything done,” Malik said. Still, things were “under wraps” then, though he had big plans for the album's roll out.

Since April, Zayn has dropped a handful of singles from Icarus Falls, including the Timbaland-produced and featuring “Too Much,” and the Nicki Minaj-assisted “No Candle No Light” in November.

In a recent interview with British Vogue, Zayn touched on how hitting 25 has affected his work. “You get a different perspective, which is cool,” he said.

In seems that the quarter-century benchmark has helped Zayn reconcile his increasing aversion to the typical promo obligations surrounding new albums. “We were meant to be releasing around February, March time, but a lot of it comes down to what promotion I'm willing to do,” he said, attributing this new outlook to “a progression” of his age and experience.

Zayn's solo debut Mind of Mine arrived in early 2016, with eventual hits like “Pillowtalk” and “It's You.”
