Waka Flocka Flame has put a stop to any speculation of a possible beef between himself and Gucci Mane.
On Thursday evening (April 9), Waka performed at Atlanta's State Farm Arena. That same night, a clip from the show of him performing "Hard in da Paint" started doing the rounds online.
At one point during the video, the fan who captured it thought the Flockaveli rapper dissed Guwop, when he could be heard shouting "fuck that" after spitting the lyrics, "See Gucci, that’s my muthafuckin’ n***a."
Despite fan speculation that this was a diss, the rapper took to his Instagram Story almost immediately to shut down the theory.
"Y’all reaching with the gucci shit," he wrote. "Be bool and stop putting me and hate in the same sentence."
There was a time that Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame were involved in a feud for many years. While the pair initially worked together — Waka’s mom, Debra Antney, once managed La Flare, and Flocka was once signed to Gucci's 1017 Brick Squad — they eventually grew apart and started trading diss tracks. There was even a lawsuit at one point.
A little over two years after Gucci was released from prison in 2016, he and Waka ended their feud after the latter asked Guwop to reach out.
"We spoke one time after that. I reached out to him," Gucci told Atlanta’s Streetz 94.5 (via Page Six) at the time. "To be honest with you, with him going on the internet like that, I reached out 'cause I thought it was urgent. I’m like, let me reach out now because I want to know."
"We had a conversation," he added. "Everything in the past now."
