Taylor Swift’s Stalker Avoids Jail Time But Gets Lengthy Probation Sentence

Frank Andrew Hoover will be on probation for ten years.

Taylor Swift’s stalker has avoided jail time. Instead, he’s received a fairly restrictive and lengthy probation that follows an incident in 2016 where he intimidated the singer and broke a protective order.

TMZ reports that Frank Andrew Hoover was arrested in Austin, Texas in 2016 after appearing at one of Swift’s concert, which violated the protective order. After the show, he trailed Swift’s motorcade to the airport. Her security then worked with police to arrest Hoover.

Hoover allegedly pled guilty on Monday, and was sentenced to 10 years of probation. To further keep him in check, he’ll be supervised by GPS for a year to guarantee that he always keeps a distance of at least one mile from the singer and her family members. TMZ also shared that he will be subjected to psychological testing and substance abuse classes, must give up all firearms, and will have to endure random drug testing. If he breaks probation, then he could face jail time.

The trouble with Hoover first arose between May 2015 and October 2016, when he sent a number of alarming emails to Swift’s father, even threatening to kill Swift and her family.

According to Page Six, Hoover’s emails were included in a 122-page indictment, some of which read, “Decided that we are going to end all the Swifts on one day because I can’t stand that virus shit your daughter spread.”

Hoover also reportedly cited Swift’s family as “the evil family of devils,” designating each family member and signing the letter, “Sincerely, the end real son of god.” He also cautioned the family, “this article is not a joke and is why god is going to burn them into the desert for me.”
