Sexyy Red is embroiled in some legal drama.
TMZ reports that the St. Louis rapper has filed a lawsuit against a former security guard, Carl Thompson, whom she blames for the theft of over $500,000 in jewelry and designer handbags.
According to the filing, Red claims that she and her family were burglarized during her mother’s birthday retreat in Florida in January 2025. She says she hired Thompson to safeguard the mansion she rented; however, she alleges that on Jan. 12, a person in a mask gained access to the property from an unlocked door and robbed her.
Big Sexyy is seeking more than $500,000 in damages for the theft of several items, including charms, rings, bracelets, watches, and designer handbags.
She says a police investigation was opened into the matter, with authorities ultimately determining that the door wasn’t locked. She blames Thompson for the burglary, alleging he was the last person to leave the rental before the incident.
Red wasn’t the first to file a lawsuit, though; Thompson sued her first, claiming that he wasn’t paid all of his wages. Last August, he filed a lawsuit alleging that Red hired him as her personal security guard in May 2023 and that he was told he’d make $180,000 per year. He worked for her until December 2024; for that time, he said he should have earned $285,000 but received only $204,000. He’s seeking payment of the remaining balance.
Red refuted his claims, which led to her countersuit and her blaming him for the theft.
