It appears that Kodak Black and Donald Trump have finally met by way of Ray J.

Page Six reports that Ray brought the rapper to a dinner at Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida so that the pair could have some face time. Rudy Giuliani and former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik were also present at the dinner.

“It was the right thing to do,” Ray told the outlet. “Trump pardoned him.” Apparently, Kodak and Ray connected when the Florida native released the song “I Wish” in February, which interpolates Ray’s 2005 song “One Wish.”

“Ray has always been someone who enjoys connecting talented minds together,” Ray’s manager, David Weintraub said, “and this is just another example of his goodwill.”

The singer/actor/tech entrepreneur and Trump first got together earlier this year to talk about ways to help entrepreneurs and young business professionals, and to discuss political issues that matter to Ray. “I’ve always admired and respected his business acumen,” Ray told Page Six back in January. “Our conversation was about job creation, encouraging small business development, and how Information Technology plays an important role in the future of our economy.”

Trump granted Kodak a commutation in January 2021 while he was incarcerated and serving a 46-month sentence for falsifying federal forms to buy firearms. Since then, Kodak has been a huge proponent of Trump’s, telling the Full Send Podcast earlier this month that, “Getting rid of Trump is the worst thing America could’ve did.” He added that he’s “forever indebted” to the former president.
