Usher and Chris Brown recently announced their joint R&B: Raymond & Brown Tour.
In the latest episode of The Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, Peter Rosenberg shared his thoughts, first calling the joint trek “fire,” then theorizing how the tour came about.
“Usher, two weeks ago, said the line about Diddy that didn't come off great, right? And then two weeks later, he's like, ‘Screw it. Now I'm going on tour with Chris Brown.’ Let's just be mindful of the brand here, Usher. I hope Chris Brown has appreciation for Usher doing this,” Rosenberg said at the 43:40 minute mark.
Rosenberg continued, “No one else of that ilk has stood next to Chris Brown, like in a real way, like this, like full-on tour. Songs for sure, but like this level of branding stadium tour together.”
“I mean, look, they have consistently been compared to each other,” Laura Stylez responded. “Everybody's always arguing about who's the favorite. … They're going to put on one hell of a show.”
“We all saw Usher in Vegas, she added. “As controversial as Chris Brown is, bro, that man puts on a show.”
Last month, Usher spoke positively about Diddy during an interview with Forbes' series, The Enterprise Zone.
“I think certain people are prosecuted and maybe not recognized for the greatness that they offer,” Usher said. “I don’t have anything negative to say about Sean Combs. My experience was not what the world has seen and how he’s been, you know, misrepresented.”
On April 10, Usher and Brown both shared a teaser, revealing their joint tour. While details are scarce, the trailer indicates that the trek will take place at stadium venues.
