Papoose has shared his side of the story with regards to his breakup from ex-wife Remy Ma, which has been making headlines a lot as of late.
On Friday (December 19), Pap — along with his new girlfriend, boxer Clarissa Shields — stopped by The Breakfast Club, where he was asked about his pending divorce from Remy, which he filed back in May, and whether he cheated on her.
"Y'all was there every step of the way. Y'all was there when I was riding up there to the prison," he told the show's hosts, referencing Remy’s six-year prison stint. "Y'all seen me fighting court officers, getting thrown out of the courtroom. It was in the newspapers. Y'all seen everything. How can I come to y'all and say something didn't happen? Y'all got to stop, man. Like, come on."
DJ Envy responded, explaining that he wanted the former couple to "not fix the relationship" but fix "the friendship" and "the parenting." It was at this point that Shields chimed in.
"That takes time. It's a divorce. It's not something that just happens overnight," she said. "People life don't stop because of that. It's papers. It's time. It's all this stuff that got to happen. But at the end of the day, we move forward with our lives."
"Like I said, I wish [Remy] the best. We got some great, amazing things going on. Like I said, this my best friend right here, man," Papoose added, speaking of Shields. "We are living our life."
Previously, Remy Ma has publicly accused Papoose of cheating on her with Shields, while Pap has accused Remy of cheating on him with battle rapper Eazy the Block Captain.
After being asked about the cheating allegations, Papoose double downed on the fact that The Breakfast Club hosts have known him for years.
"That's what I'm saying. So, like, if it's a new artist, I get it. We don't know him. All these years incarcerated, all that shit never been on my name ever. Y’all was out here with me,” Pap responded, seemingly denying that he cheated on Remy.
Charlamagne Tha God then said: "I'm going to tell you something. That is a good point that Pap making 'cause all them years [Remy] was incarcerated…we ain’t never seen Pap out in the street, nothing."
"Like I said, man, I wish her the best, man," Papoose said. "Me speaking about that… I ain't here to do that."
After first getting together in 2004, Remy started a six-year prison sentence in 2008 for assault with a weapon. The pair got married that same year, during her incarceration, and she was released in 2014. In 2018, they welcomed their daughter, Reminisce Mackenzie.
Papoose filed for divorce from Remy Ma in May, citing irreconcilable differences. He also accused her of cheating "numerous times" over the course of their relationship.
