Ne-Yo didn’t miss Mother’s Day.
The singer took to Instagram to shout out his mother, his sister, and the mothers of his children—Monyetta Shaw, Crystal Renay, and Sade Jenea.
“Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing mom, my nephew’s crazy mom (hey sis) and the beautiful mothers of my beautiful children. My love for you is endless,” he wrote.
“And to all of the wonderful and deserving mothers all over the world…YOU are the life breath of this very planet. I honor and salute you for your constant selflessness and the genuine love, encouragement, comfort and care you give on a daily basis. We should celebrate you everyday.”
Users dragged him though—and not for the caption, but for the pictures. Some followers slammed him for posting Shaw, Renay, and Jenea in the same set of images, while others criticized his photo choice for Jenea. Ne-Yo has two children with Shaw, three with Renay, and reportedly has one with Jenea.
“It’s the audacity to post all the baby moms in one post that’s absolutely absurd,” one IG commenter wrote. Another said, “All the other pictures are classy except for the last one but it’s none of my business lol.”
One more user pointed to the fact that Ne-Yo wished happy Mother’s Day to his ex-wife Renay in the same photo set as the woman, reportedly Jenea, whom he was unfaithful with. “This post would piss me off so bad smh cause ain’t no way you put me on the same slide with that woman you cheated and had a family on me with,” they wrote.
Over on the Shade Room's post, an observer bemoaned "the baby mama collage" while another recommended someone "temporarily disable his account for a few months."

Despite having previously joined in on the viral #MuteRKelly movement, Ne-Yo revealed that he hasn’t boycotted the imprisoned singer entirely.
Ne-Yo and Renay finalized their divorce in February when he ended up paying her a $1.6 million lump sum. The former couple have shared custody of their three children and Renay will continue living in one of their four homes; Ne-Yo will get the other three. She will get another $20,000 in moving expenses, as well as child support and alimony, and $150,000 for a new car.
Last year, Renay accused her husband of cheating on her for eight years. She soon filed for divorce, claiming their marriage was “irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation.”
