Diana Ross was unfortunately vacationing in Hawaii when Saturday's missile scare took place, and she was understandably stressed by the mess. TMZ caught up with the singer when she landed in Los Angeles, where she expressed her relief at being home. "We were very frightened," she said in the very brief interview. "We were so happy to come home." Ross said she and other guests were taken to a hotel's basement by its staff before learning the missile was a false alarm half an hour later.

On Saturday morning, residents and visitors in Hawaii were sent an emergency alert notifying them about an incoming missile. There were no incoming missiles: Hawaii Governor David Ige told CNN that an emergency system worker "pushed the wrong button" during a shift change. It took 38 minutes for a second alert to be sent via mobile text, verifying that the missile scare was indeed a false alarm.

Other celebrities—including Judd Apatow, Jim Carrey, and Jamie Lee Curtis—reacted to the scare as well. While Apatow didn't specifically place the blame on President Trump, Carrey and Curtis had no problems with being completely transparent about their feelings.

Tensions between North Korea and the United States certainly added fuel to the fire; the reason why Hawaii even has the alert system is due to its proximity to North Korean missiles. And Trump's response to Kim Jong-un’s New Year’s Day speech—bragging about the size of his nuclear launch button—didn't help.
