Method Man doesn’t just want your admiration.

The Wu-Tang Clan rapper recently sat down with Tamron Hall who asked him about being seen as a “sex symbol.” She pulled the phrasing from his 2023 Men’s Health cover story, in which he said, “‘I’m not a sex symbol.’” She added, “You said sometimes you don’t want to be lusted over; you just want to be respected.”

Meth explained himself, saying, “Imma show it off while I still got it, but here’s the thing, right? I love the admiration. I love it. Does it get awkward at times? Absolutely! Sometimes you just want to blend in with everybody else and I’m that type of person.”

In the Men’s Health story, he explained why he’s resistant to the phase sex symbol: “I’m not doing anything. So what’s the symbol?”

He echoed similar sentiments about his physical appearance to the publication, revealing that while he “loves every freaking minute” of being lusted after, he doesn’t “want to be that guy that, when the clock starts winding down, he’s still trying to be that sexy.”
