Meek Mill’s Twitter rants are customary at this point.
But on Wednesday, the “Dreams and Nightmares” rapper let off a single tweet, aimed at the upcoming 2024 U.S. presidential election.
“I wish I never learned about politics because now yall scaring me 🙂↔️,” he wrote, quote-tweeting a clip of Joe Biden saying, “I’ll step down if I have a medical condition emerge,” only to be diagnosed with COVID-19.
Biden and Donald Trump are currently vying for the presidency in November, and their campaigns have been dumpster fires. Both politicians had dismal performances at last month’s first presidential debate. In the time since, notable Democrats have called for Biden to end his campaign and Trump was injured during an assassination attempt.
Now that Biden has contracted COVID, there are additional calls for him to step down. According to BBC, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries—the top two Democrats in Congress—have individually shown “concerns over his bid for the White House.”
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also reportedly told Biden that he won’t win against Trump.
On Thursday, the Washington Post ran a story alleging that former President Barack Obama would prefer Biden step down.
