Kid Rock didn’t love being the butt of Conan O’Brien’s Oscars joke.
On Monday, the pro-MAGA artist took to X to respond to a clip of O’Brien’s monologue from the awards show, where the comedian name-dropped Rock.
“I should warn you, tonight could get political,” O’Brien said. “And if that makes you uncomfortable, there’s an alternate Oscars being hosted by Kid Rock. It’s at the Dave & Buster’s down the street.”
Rock slammed the joke, writing, “I love a good joke, even when I am the butt of it, unfortunately this was not a very good one,” before plugging his upcoming Freedom 250 Tour.
O’Brien’s joke stems from last month’s Turning Point All-American Halftime Show, which saw Rock perform two songs in front of a thin crowd. The pretaped livestream was meant to counter Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.
According to Billboard, while Turning Point’s halftime show alternative has amassed 21 million views on YouTube since Feb. 8, Bad Bunny’s program has garnered over 125 million views on the same platform. The Puerto Rican superstar’s performance has also become the most-watched Super Bowl Halftime Show ever, with a global viewership record of 4.157 billion worldwide views in the first day.
