Gucci Mane has announced he’ll be facing off with Jeezy in an upcoming Verzuz battle.
“Tell buddy Get ready Thursday Nov 19 @verzuztv Trap God vs Snowcone,” Gucci captioned an Instagram post of the event’s flyer.
However, it appears that the battle is taking place at the same time as the already-announced Verzuz with Jeezy and T.I.—and earlier this week, news emerged that Gucci turned down the opportunity to go back-to-back with Jeezy.
“Swizz [Beatz] called me and I was like ‘Yo, Swizz... If I do it, there's only one person I'd do it with,” Jeezy told The Breakfast Club this week. “And he was like ‘Who?’ ‘Gucci, reach out to him. Let me know what's up.’”
“Swizz hit back and said he respectfully declined,” Jeezy continued. “Cool. Done. Kept it moving. I was gonna do it for the culture.”
Still, it appears that the battle between Jeezy and Gucci is real.
T.I. shared it on his Instagram, as did Timbaland, who co-created the series with Swizz. This could mean he bowed out of Verzuz in favor of Gucci.
On Sunday, Swizz Beatz shared the flyer, writing that the paperwork was officially in.
Jeezy finally shared the flyer as well, calling Gucci "Lil Guwop" and telling him to not send his clone.
Back in July, Tip challenged 50 Cent to a battle on the Queens rapper’s 45th birthday. “For your birthday, I offer you a challenge, sir,” T.I. said. “Pull your ass up with 20 of your records, sit across from me, and get this work, man.”
Tip also attempted to light a fire under Fif’s ass by referencing his record sales battle with Kanye West in 2007: “But, I understand if you don't want to answer to that challenge,” T.I. continued. “Because last time you got challenged Kanye West dusted your ass off... And I fuck with you 50. It ain't you this time. It's your catalog that gots some trouble. Your motherfucking catalog is in trouble.” Tip then told Fif he has 24 hours to respond.
When 50 heard about the challenge, he responded with a reference to Friday. “Yo somebody passed TI the weed they gave smokey in Friday. LOL,” he wrote on IG.
