A few hip-hop mainstays dropped projects on Friday, including Metro Boomin’s compilation album Not All Heroes Wear Capes, Takeoff’s solo debut The Last Rocket, and Vince Staples’ EP FM!
Now, the first-week sales projections for those albums have arrived. According to Hits Daily Double, with features from Travis Scott, Swae Lee, Gucci Mane, Kodak Black, 21 Savage and more, Metro’s album is set to move roughly 45 to 55k copies during its first week, with 3 to 4k coming from genuine sales.
Takeoff’s solo album is anticipated to move 35 to 45k in its first week, with 3 to 4k in pure sales, while Staples’ project is expected to move 16 to 19k, with 2 to 3k in pure sales.
Metro’s album marks the return of the St. Louis-born super-producer, who originally announced his “retirement” from hip-hop this past April.
However, in October, fake missing persons billboards were spotted in New York City and Atlanta. “Missing. Have you seen this man,” was printed in large red lettering, accompanied by a photo of Young Metro and his basic information, like height and weight. Also written on the billboard was the phrase, “All Heroes Don't Wear Capes.”
Takeoff’s solo offering follows the release of Quavo’s Quavo Huncho from October, as well as Migos’ album Culture II from January. The last release we saw from Staples was his 2017 studio album Big Fish Theory.
