Drake Once Again Gives Kodak Black High Praise: ‘You Really All That for This Generation and the Next’

Drake and Kodak Black have been trading compliments for years, and Drizzy's latest praise for the Florida rapper came via an Instagram Live session.

Even with his wide-ranging controversies, Kodak Black has still received an impressive cosign from Drake.

“You really all that for this generation and the next one if we being honest,” Drizzy commented while Kodak was doing an Instagram Live session, a remark that Black pinned as the Live continued.

Back in 2018, Drake called Kodak’s Dying to Liveone of his favorite albums of “the last five years.” He reached out to Black to share his accolades, texting, “Your purpose is so pure. … Like you are almost talking from this god level birds eye view of your own life. I wanna know how you broke that wall.”

When January 2020 hit, Kodak suggested a collab album in Drake’s IG comments, saying, “I Am Your Biggest Fan Sir. … If We Can’t Do A Whole Album Together, I Never Want To Do A Song With You Sir.” When Haitian Boy Kodak dropped last May, Drake had positive words again, telling Black, “Man you always give me that inspiration...Real POET...Oracle. … Man let’s do some music for sure. But for real you really on another level.”

Kodak’s recent song “Super Gremlin” has made its way to the No. 10 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The last album we saw from him was 2020’s Bill Israel, which included features from Gucci Mane, Lil Yachty, Jackboy, and more.

Less than a week into 2022, Kodak was already stirring the pot. On Jan. 4, he said he wants to take part in a Verzuz battle with Jay-Z. “I’ll do a versus wit Jay Z,” he tweeted “‘IF’ he win he get 15% of my catalog! I win he make me Vice President of roc nation.”

When it comes to Hov doing a Verzuz, many have tried to throw down the gauntlet, like Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg, and the late DMX, and it doesn’t seem we’ll see him on that stage any time soon.
