Coi Leray is in love.
The “Twinnem” rapper sat down with Baby This is Keke Palmer, where the titular host asked Leray about her relationship with Justin Laboy.
“I didn't expect to be in another relationship anytime soon,” Leray admitted, before indirectly referencing her ex, Trippie Redd. “I was very focused and locked in. Still very focused and very locked in. Coming from my last situation, I'm like, ‘Nah…me, my daughter, just work, nothing else. I am a robot. Don't talk to me. Don't talk to me.’ That's how my mind was.”
Leray and Laboy first met when he interviewed her for #Respectfully: The Justin Laboy Show last September. In that moment, sparks flew, with Leray noting that they “locked eyes so crazy” the moment she first saw Justin.
“He gave me mad flowers,” she added, saying that she didn’t know what to expect before meeting Laboy. “I didn't know what he looked like. I just knew that, ‘Okay, I'm coming to release new music. It's time to promote.’”
After that, he tried asking her out, with Leray saying he “applied pressure,” but she avoided him for a couple of weeks. “He kept hitting me up. He's like, ‘Yo, I want to take you out. I want to take you out,’” Coi recalled. And I'm like, ‘No, Justin. You're not about to run a move on me. I don't have the mental capacity to get my feelings hurt.’”
However, she eventually caved to the pressure and they went on a date.
“I think I fell for his personality. He's the most funniest person ever. He's such a good vibe. He's such a good time,” she explained. “Now that we're together, I've gotten to experience the way he pours into me.
“And I think that was the main thing that I fell in love with because I've never been with anyone ever that poured into me the way he did. It doesn't feel like a competition. It doesn't feel like there's ego there. He doesn't care if I'm more successful as an artist. And I don't care if he's more successful in media.”
The pair first sparked dating rumors last September when Laboy posted a photo captioned, “My coi.” That same month, Leray chatted with Laboy for his show, where she hinted that she was “entertaining somebody.” In late January, Justin confirmed that he and Leray were still going strong with a picture of them kissing on his Instagram Story, and in February, the couple sat down for a special Valentine’s Day episode of Respectfully.
Prior to Laboy, Leray had a brief relationship with Trippie Redd in 2019 before they rekindled in August 2024. Then on Jan. 1, 2025, they confirmed they were expecting their first child together, a daughter named Miyoco. In late January, Leray accused Trippie of cheating on her during her pregnancy.
