Britney Spears seemingly isn’t happy with her family.
Days after Christmas, the pop icon took to Instagram, where she appeared to react to a holiday photo posted by her sister, Jamie Lynn. Included in the group pictures were Jamie Lynn’s husband, Jamie Watson, their daughters Maddie and Ivey, and the Britney and Jamie’s mother, Lynne Spears. Britney’s eldest son, Sean Preston, whom she shares with Kevin Federline, was also present.
“Merry late Christmas to my beautiful family who have never disrespected me, harmed me, ever done anything completely unacceptable or caused unbelievable trauma, the kind you can’t fix,” Spears wrote.
“To my dear sweet innocent family,” she continued, “So so sorry I was busy this Christmas but I will definitely show up and surprise you soon … I can’t wait …. hello, beautiful Ivy … I just want to hold you, my love … Godspeed, friends.”
Like last year, Spears spent this Christmas with her younger son, Jayden James, whom she also shares with her ex-husband, Federline.
An insider told Us Weekly that the mother and son “watched movies, played, and listened to music” during their holiday, and spent time with family friends.
“Britney was really hurt that Preston didn’t spend Christmas with her and Jayden, but he chose not to,” the source added. “She tried to convince him, but he wasn’t ready to meet her halfway.”
In 2024, Spears reacted to reuniting with Jayden for the holiday, writing on IG, “Best Christmas of my life !!! I haven’t seen my boys in 2 years. Tears of joy and literally in shock everyday koo koo crazy so in love and blessed !!! I’m speechless thank you Jesus !!!”
Although her caption suggested she met with both of her sons, Sean did not visit her for Christmas.
It appears as if Spears and Jayden are building a relationship outside of the holiday season. In March, she raved about Jayden’s piano skills online. "My son just played, oh my God! I felt it in my bones, and my heart, and my lungs, and my ass, and my throat and I'm scared!" she said in a video.
