Tekashi 6ix9ine might return to jail.
The U.S. attorney's office for the Southern District of New York is recommending jail time after 6ix9ine violated his supervised release by performing in Las Vegas in late October, TMZ reported on Thursday.
The government will propose that the rapper go to jail for 30 days; after he’s released, he will undergo another year of supervised release. The first 90 days following his jail time will also be split into three parts: During the first 30 days, he will be under home incarceration; the second 30 days will see him on home detention; for the remaining 30 days, he will have to adhere to a curfew.
After the 90 days, the "Fefe" rapper will be permitted to travel domestically for work, though it will require his probation officer’s approval. The U.S. attorney is also suggesting that he should be randomly tested for drugs.
He is set to appear in court next week and concede to the violations. A judge will need to agree to the government’s recommended sentencing.
6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, was arrested in late October for violating his supervised release.
6ix9ine's attorney Lance Lazzaro said he was taken into custody after he didn’t get permission from his probation officer to perform in Las Vegas. The 28-year-old then tested positive for meth, with his lawyer telling TMZ that it may have been a false positive since the rapper takes Adderall.
6ix9ine has been incarcerated since the arrest.
