Though its been a while since Yo Gotti released a studio album, the Memphis rapper has reassured fans that it was worth the wait.

On Thursday evening, Gotti came through with Untrapped—the follow-up to 2017's Still Am. The 38-year-old recently told Big Boy that the project was a reflection of his growth over the years—both in his professional and personal life. Gotti pointed to the project's title track, in which he raps about topics like paying taxes and doles out advice for other rappers.

"Even in Atlanta, they be like, 'Gotti you changed.' I call it maturity ... It's just a different perspective," he said, before he was asked if Untrapped was his best work. "I think all the work is good, but I think the message is, like—it's the most feelings I've put into the music, I think. I've been going through a lot of different things and I was making the music simultaneously."

The album includes tracks like "H.O.E. (Heaven on Earth)," "Put a Date on It" with Lil Baby, and "Pose (Remix)" featuring Lil Uzi Vert and Megan the Stallion. Gotti also confirmedUntrapped will feature Memphis artists Moneybagg Yo and Black Youngsta.

You can stream Untrapped now on Apple Music and Spotify.

In addition to new music, Gotti has been dedicating his time to criminal justice reform. The rapper, along with Team Roc, helped procure legal counsel for Mississippi inmates who claim they are being abused within the state penitentiaries. The prisoners are now suing Mississippi officials for failing to protect them from extreme violence and "dangerous environmental conditions."

In other Gotti-related news, the rapper will host his 8th annual Birthday Bash on June 19 at the FedEx Forum Arena in Memphis.

"This year's Birthday Bash is going to be the best one yet," Gotti told Complex. "We have special guests and surprises in the works, and I can't wait for my fans to experience it. This is going to be the greatest party Memphis has ever seen."
