Wale is still convinced he’s one of the G.O.A.T.s.

The DMV rapper made the declaration via Twitter on Wednesday, claiming he has put out more quality material than most other artists in the game. He not only highlighted his RIAA certified-singles, but also the “crazy” deep cuts he’s delivered over the years.

“When I say I’m one of the greatest rappers of all time. I mean it with all my heart,” he wrote. “I’ve put out more QUALITY music than most. My deep cuts are crazy. My singles all got plaques. Decade plus. THAT is why I’m heavy on the gratitude.”

To no one’s surprise, Wale’s comments set off a wave of mixed reactions, especially after the tweet was shared on the Shade Room’s Instagram page. While some fans co-signed the declaration, others argued that true G.O.A.T. status isn’t self-proclaimed.

“I will never understand why people call themselves the greatest of all time…” one user wrote. “Isn’t that for the fans to declare?”

“Yeah this is a stretch actually a big one,” another added.

“When you’re great u don’t have to say it, others will 🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🥴” read one comment.

Wale was seemingly unfazed by those who questioned his declaration:

This isn’t the first time Wale has referred to himself as one of the hip-hop greats. After a number of top 50 rappers lists went viral in 2019, the Grammy-nominated artist boldly argued he deserved a spot in the rankings.

He reiterated his position back in June, when he announced the sequel to his 2012 project Folarin 2. which he has yet to release.
