The Game celebrates his 40th birthday with the release of his ninth studio album Born 2 Rap.

The Compton rapper announced the release date earlier this month, reiterating the project would serve as his swan song.

"I’ve had a great run & surpassed my rap goals along time ago...it’s by God’s grace that I’m able to still be here to deliver full projects at this caliber in an industry where I’ve seen artists come & go," he wrote on Instagram. "It will always be 'QUALITY' over 'QUANTITY' from where I stand. The REAL music will always prevail & this album will cap off an amazing run. I’m grateful for all the producers & artists who’ve helped this album become what it is & I am more excited for my fans than I am for myself. This album will go #1....because it’s CLASSIC!!!"

Born 2 Rap delivers 24 tracks (and one interlude)—a nod to The Game's "all-time favorite" NBA player, Kobe Bryant—and was co-executive produced by Dom Kennedy, who appears on "Gold Daytonas" and "Five Hundred Dollar Candles." The album also includes guest appearances by Ed Sheeran, 21 Savage, Bryson Tiller, Anderson .Paak, Trey Songz, and Nipsey Hussle. The Game spoke about Nipsey during an Everyday Struggle sit-down at ComplexCon Long Beach earlier this month, saying he had helped the late rapper at the beginning of his career.

"God bless my brother’s soul, but if he was here, Nipsey sit on this couch and he’ll tell you my contribution to his career. I rolled down my window for Nipsey and took his demo..." The Game said, before addressing allegations that he exploits Nipsey's name. "Everything that I’ve done, Nipsey anything: mention him, say something, post something. I’ve ran passed Blacc Sam, just out of respect. Not ’cause I have to, just because that’s Nipsey’s brother and that is the n*gga who controls anything Nipsey. And when Blacc Sam tell me, ‘I love you, I know what you did, do your thing, blessings, the marathon continues,’ then fuck what anybody else gotta say."
