Just days after SZA debuted several songs in NYC, the St. Louis singer has officially dropped a new single from her long-awaited debut album.

Needless to say, it's a great week for SZA fans.

The track, titled "Drew Barrymore," was described by the 26-year-old as “brown grunge," as it touches on the very real, but depressing struggles of low self-esteem: "I get so lonely I forget what I'm worth/We get so lonely we pretend that it's worse/I'm so ashamed of myself think I need therapy," she sings. "I'm sorry I'm not more attractive/I'm sorry I'm not more ladylike/I'm sorry I don't shave my legs at night."

The song is available now on iTunes and Apple Music.

In 2016, there were several rumors SZA's debut album would drop before the year’s end; however, the long-awaited project experienced several push backs, and seemed to have caused tension between SZA and her label, Top Dawg Entertainment. Rewind to October of 2016, when she announced in a now-deleted tweet she was done with music, and that TDE co-president Terrence “Punch” Henderson could release her album “if he ever feels like it.”

“I’ll probably just do something different, something visual, probably film,” she told Complex in November. “I’m really frustrated, and I’m kind of over it. I have a lot of anxiety and there’s a lot going on in my life.”

Thankfully, SZA is still in the game and has finally blessed us with new material. Does this mean her highly anticipated studio album is around the corner? We definitely hope so.

The new single was released hours before SZA's performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! which you can check out below.
