A group of particularly butt-hurt Americans are criticizing Nike for its new Just Do It ad starring Colin Kaepernick. The campaign image featured a close-up of the NFL free agent with the words: “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”

The slogan was, of course, in reference to Kaepernick’s ongoing battle with the league, which has been accused of conspiring against the QB due to his on-field protests against police brutality. Kaepernick’s decision to kneel during the national anthem drew a polarizing response, as some considered it to be disrespectful toward the flag.

Shortly after the new campaign was revealed, many people began calling for a Nike boycott—some even went as far as to burn their Nike gear.

On Tuesday, Plies responded to Nike and Kaepernick’s critics in a brief video posted on Instagram that's reminiscent of his words sampled on Drake's Scorpion.

“To everybody who mad at Nike 'bout Colin Kaepernick: You know what I'm finna do? I'm finna to wear my Nikes today. Yeah, my Bron Bron Nikes today. You mad at Nike. You big mad,” he said with a laugh. “Why you mad at Nike? Nike ain’t did nothing to you. Who is you? You ain’t nobody. Do it. Just like Nike said, ‘Just Do it.’ You need to put your shades on and chill.”

Plies wasn't the only hip-hop figure to address Nike's Kaepernick ad. Everyone from 2 Chainz and Ludacris to Charlamagne and Swizz Beatz praised the brand for standing behind the embattled athlete. Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa also took the time to call out the triggered individuals who destroyed their Swoosh pieces.
