No, Nicki Minaj Wasn't Dissing Cardi B on "No Flag"

Nicki Minaj addressed the rumor on Twitter shortly after the London on da Track single was released.

The internet loves jumping to conclusions. Following the release of London on da Track’s latest single “No Flag,” people began speculating that Nicki Minaj’s guest verse was a direct diss toward Cardi B.

As you can see, there are no obvious references to the former Love & Hip Hop star; however that didn’t stop people from throwing out Cardi’s name. Was this the beginning of another Nicki feud? Or were fans simply making something out of nothing?

Though no one was really sure at first, not everyone was convinced that Cardi was the latest addition to Nicki’s hit list. There were prior rumors of beef back in March; however, those were seemingly shot down after Nicki was spotted dancing to “Bodak Yellow.” Furthermore, Cardi recently gave an interview in which she addressed being constantly compared to the Pinkprint artist, suggesting it was an honor.

“It’s something great, why wouldn’t I want to be compared of confused to somebody that is such a legend, you know like an icon in the hip hop world,” she told Rapetón.

Well, shortly after “No Flag” was released, Nicki decided to set the record straight on Twitter, insisting her verse was not directed at Cardi.

So, who was Nicki going after? It’s important to note that she also retweeted a video in which a man says: “I don’t know who she talking about, but don’t let that go over your head […] She’s talking about somebody.”

Others theorized Nicki was reloading on her longtime foe Remy Ma. Though that definitely makes more sense, it's all speculation at this point.
