Jay Z continues to use his many resources to aid hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico.
As his streaming service Tidal prepares to send 20,000 pounds of supplies to the devastated island, it was just revealed that Jay is using his other business ventures to help the many victims of Hurricane Maria.
According to TMZ, the hip-hop mogul generously loaned out his 40/40 Club to Disaster Relief for Puerto Rico, an invite-only charity event organized by the Puerto Rican Family Institute and Big & Little Skills Academy. The news site reports attendees have been asked to donate money or much-needed supplies like batteries, solar lamps, and flashlights. Those who make a donation will get complimentary glasses of Jay’s D'Usse Cognac during the first hour.
All collected supplies will reportedly be flown out to Puerto Rico on Thursday.
Shortly after Hurricane Maria left many Puerto Ricans without power and water, Tidal announced its third annual charity concert would benefit organizations that focus on disaster relief and recovery. This year’s Tidal X: Brooklyn concert will take place Oct. 17 with performances by Jay, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Vic Mensa, and many more.
