Janet Jackson is back.
On Thursday night, the 52-year-old entertainer released her Daddy Yankee-assisted record “Made for Now”—her first single since 2016’s “Dammn Baby.” Jackson confirmed the track on social media over the weekend, posting its cover art with a caption that read: “From my lips...#MadeForNow […]”

Jackson is scheduled to perform her new single on Friday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The appearance will mark the singer’s late-night TV performance in 14 years.
Jackson is currently on the second North American leg of her State of the World Tour in support of her 11th studio album Unbreakable. During her set at the Essence festival last month, Jackson revealed she had considered canceling the trek in wake of her father’s death.

Joe Jackson Has Died at 89
The Jackson family patriarch Joe Jackson died early Wednesday morning. He reportedly passed away at 3:30 a.m. in a hospital in Los Angeles after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.
“You know, it's always difficult when you lose a loved one and to be quite honest it was really hard for me. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know how to move forward. If I should cancel this festival, cancel the entire tour,” she told the crowd. “I think my father would've said, 'Janet, please. Finish what you've started.’”
Jackson is also scheduled to perform at the Global Citizen Festival next month.
