It appears Iggy Azalea is now claiming that she is an independent artist.
About nine months after she "shifted" from Def Jam to Island Records, the 28-year-old artist announced she is officially unsigned. And she seems pretty thrilled about it.

Iggy Azalea Cancels North American Tour
Iggy Azalea's first North American tour since 2015 has been canceled.
It was in 2014 when Iggy released her debut studio album, The New Classic, which included hit singles like "Work," "Black Widow" with Rita Ora, and "Fancy" featuring Charli XCX. The project topped multiple Billboard charts, received platinum certification, as well as several Grammy awards. But despite the album's success, fans have yet to receive the purported follow-up, Digital Distortion. The years-long delay was reportedly a significant factor in Iggy's decision to join the Island family.
Well, it turns out the move did very little to propel her career.
"I love Island, but don’t want a label, there are conversations happening at the moment," she said in a now-deleted tweet this week. "I want to be my own boss. I feel I would be better off if I could make my own timeline etc choices and I have the funds to do it."
Iggy got her wish; however, she told fans that it'd be months before she delivers new music.
The announcement arrives less than a month after Iggy confirmed her Bad Girls North American Tour had been scrapped.
