Dejember is in full effect.

During a recent interview with the Fader, Dej Loaf announced her long-awaited debut album will be called Liberated. Though she didn’t reveal the project’s release date, the Detroit artist did confirm it will include a Leon Bridges feature, as well as production by Detail and songwriting by Ricky “Wallpaper” Reed.

“I’m hoping people understand that this isn’t fake, or don’t think I’m just doing this because I’m being forced,” she told the Fader. “I’ve always wanted to make bigger music. But I never could go all the way 'cause I didn’t have the resources, in terms of working with Grammy Award-winning producers, bigger studios, a bigger sound. I’ve always had it in me, but my voice is developed now."

Now, just days after Liberated was announced, Dej has come through with a new cut titled “Hold It Down,” produced by Buddah Bless This Beat. The release follows her rendition of Beanie Sigel's “In the Air," which was delivered only a few weeks ago; it also comes nearly eight months after the 25-year-old dropped her 11-track All Jokes Aside mixtape, featuring Silk the Shocker.

Yes, she’s kept a relatively low profile for most of 2016, but it appears she’s going to finish out the year strong. While you wait for more singles to drop, you can listen to Hold It Down below.
