Zach Svobodny has already won Christmas.
This week, the 23-year-old nabbed headlines after his holiday prank on his sister went viral. And, no, this wasn’t some tired practical joke. This one required a lot of creativity, an image of Chief Keef, and some impressive Photoshop skills.
Here’s what Zach pulled off: The Minnesota native manipulated an old picture of the Chicago rapper to make it look like he had his arm around his little sister, Morgan. He then turned the photo into a Christmas card and sent it to their relatives with a letter written seemingly written by Morgan.
The genius note read:
What made the situation funnier was that Morgan had no idea until after her family began questioning her about her new man.
“I had just wrapped up my last final of the semester when my aunt Jen called me curious about my new boyfriend,” Morgan told Complex. “She had received a Christmas card in the mail. At this point, I knew Zach was at the bottom of it.”
This isn’t the first time she’s been pranked by her brother, but this year’s stunt was on a whole other level. Zach insists it’s all in good fun.
“I like to prank my sister because she's a good sport about it,” he explained to Complex. “We both really love rap music so that's why I chose to use a rapper. My favorite rappers are J .Cole and Fabolous and I was gonna use one of those two but then for some reason Chief Keef popped into my head and I just rolled with it. Plus he's like the same age as my sister so it fit well and I just loved the song titles because they're so vulgar. I knew it was going to blow up.”
And it did blow up. The prank was shared all over social media, with many praising the details of the manipulated image. But Zach says he couldn’t have done it without the help of his friend Kirby Winson, who thought of the idea to put Keef’s hand around Morgan’s waist.
Morgan says she’s thinking of ways to get her brother back, but Zach isn’t worried.
“My sister won't retaliate. She's happy for the 15 minutes of fame. As Twista would say, I made her a celebrity overnight,” he said. “[…] I'm still surprised Chief keef hasn't responded to it yet cuz [sic] I know damn well that he's seen it.”
