Big Sean Connects With Hit-Boy on New Song and Video "What a Life"

Sean unleashed the track just a day after he impressed fans with his nine-minute freestyle on 'L.A. Leakers,' leading some to believe a project is on the way.

It’s been a blessed week for Big Sean fans.

At midnight Friday, the Detroit rapper came through with “What a Life,” a Hit-Boy-produced track in which he reflects on his come-up as well as the ups and downs of fame. “Only get one life, swear I almost died twice,” he raps in the chorus. “I went triple platinum more than three times, what a life, man/Feel like god when they bless me with the trick dice/And I left her ass on read, even though it was enticin’.”

There’s also a Joe Weil-directed video full of bees, brides, and Big Sean levitating. Watch that up top.

Sean announced the song’s release just hours before it hit streaming services, but did not say whether it was a loosie or a taste of a full-length project.

Sean Don’s last album, Detroit 2, arrived in September 2020 and he has yet to provide any information about a possible follow-up. However, fans are speculating the rapper has something up his sleeve, as he also just stopped by Power 106’s L.A. Leakers to deliver an impressive nine-minute freestyle.
